Rentanium Privacy Policy

Interclypse, Inc. d/b/a Sofiac — Effective Date: April 9, 2025

1. Overview

Interclypse, Inc. d/b/a Sofiac (“Sofiac,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Rentanium, a cloud-based car rental management platform (“Platform”) hosted on Amazon Web Services (“AWS”). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the Platform.

We do not own, sell, rent, or trade any personal data. Data submitted to the Platform belongs to the rental operators who use it (“Operators”) and their end customers.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Information Operators Provide

Operators and their staff may submit business and customer data into the Platform, including names, contact information, driver’s license details, and rental transaction records. We process this data solely to provide the Platform services on behalf of the Operator.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

We may collect limited technical data automatically, such as:

IP addresses and browser/device type for security and diagnostics
Platform usage logs for performance monitoring
Session identifiers

This data is used only for operating and securing the Platform.

2.3 Account Information

Operators provide contact and billing information when creating an account. We use this solely to manage the account and provide support.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we process to:

Deliver and operate the Platform
Monitor and improve Platform performance and features (using anonymized, aggregated data only)
Provide customer support
Send transactional and service notifications, including SMS messages (see Section 10)
Ensure security and prevent fraud
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use personal data for advertising or sell it to any third party.

4. Data Ownership

Sofiac does not claim ownership of any data submitted to the Platform. Operators are responsible for ensuring they have the right to submit data and that their own privacy policies accurately reflect their use of the Platform.

Sofiac acts as a data processor on behalf of Operators, who are the data controllers responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing their end customers’ personal data. Sofiac processes personal data only on Operators’ instructions and as described in this policy.

Sofiac may collect and use anonymized, aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics derived from Platform activity (“Aggregated Statistics”) for product improvement and other lawful purposes. Aggregated Statistics do not identify any Operator, end customer, or individual, and are owned by Sofiac.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: AWS and other infrastructure providers who host and operate the Platform under contractual confidentiality obligations.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we will attempt to redirect the requesting authority to obtain the data directly from the applicable Operator before disclosing. If compelled to disclose, we will promptly notify the Operator unless legally prohibited from doing so.
Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

6. Data Retention and Security

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the Platform or as required by law. Data is hosted on AWS infrastructure protected by industry-standard security controls including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

No security measure is 100% guaranteed. Operators are responsible for managing their own access credentials.

7. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting Client Data, Sofiac’s notification obligations are governed by the applicable agreement with the relevant Operator. Nothing in this policy creates independent notification rights for end users beyond those required by applicable law.

8. Individual Data Rights

Requests from individuals to access, correct, or delete their personal data should be directed to the Operator through whose platform the data was collected. Sofiac will assist Operators in responding to such requests to the extent required by applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

Data submitted to the Platform is hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. If you are located outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. Sofiac relies on lawful transfer mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, to facilitate such transfers in compliance with applicable law.

10. SMS / Text Messaging Policy

10.1 Types of Messages

With consent, the Platform may send the following SMS messages to end users (rental customers) on behalf of Operators:

Booking Confirmations: Confirmation of reservation details, pickup/return times, and booking reference numbers.
Verification Codes (OTP): One-time passcodes for identity verification or account authentication.

10.2 Consent

SMS messages are sent only to users who have provided their mobile number and consented to receive text messages, either through the Operator’s booking flow or directly within the Platform. Message frequency depends on user activity.

10.3 Opt-Out

Users may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, no further marketing or non-essential SMS messages will be sent. Users may reply START to re-subscribe.

10.4 Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Sofiac does not charge separately for SMS messages.

10.6 Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

11. Cookies and Tracking

The Platform uses session cookies and similar technologies solely for authentication and platform functionality. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at https://sofiactravel.com/privacy-policy. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
